When you were browsing through our collection of themes, you have probably noticed that most of our blog themes have gigantic, edge-to-edge sliders on the homepages (that can be transformed into smaller ones, of course). This is no coincidence.

Did you know that site visitors take 6 seconds to decide whether they want to stay on the website or leave forever? Six freaking seconds! This only means that if you don’t impress them right away, they’ll feel no guilt for closing the tab on your blog. That’s why we decided to include gigantic sliders on the homepages of our blog themes, so we can help you catch visitors’ attention.

But, the truth is, the slider can do its magic only if you put the most interesting articles/content in it. You can use the slider to feature your recent blog post(s), your most read content, or any article/video/image you feel needs extra promotion. And if you pair these articles/images/videos with eye-catching (not clickbait-y!) headlines, you have a win-win situation 一 your blog visitors will spend 60 minutes going through your site, instead of 6 seconds.

Bonus tip: Some of our WordPress themes, like Huntt, don’t come with gigantic sliders on the homepages. Instead, their homepages consist of three- or four-column grids that display the articles. If you bought Huntt theme and want to make sure you catch your blog readers’ attention right away, be sure to feature the articles that are most loved and read on the top of the homepage, and then the ones that are not so popular. You can do so by marking the most popular posts as “sticky” ones. If this option doesn’t quite satisfy your needs and you want to make changes in the code, you can always send us an email to support@themeskingdom.com, and we’ll gladly do it for you.
